How to Enable a Payroll/HRIS Integration
Integrating your payroll or HRIS system with Handbook ensures seamless management of employee data. Forget manually adding employees into Handbook! Follow these steps to enable a payroll integration, input necessary details, and understand how the synchronization process works.
You must be on at least the Advanced plan to utilize Payroll/HRIS Integration
Our payroll/HRIS integration does not modify any data in your external software. Handbook also does not download, store, or view any data other than your employees ID, email, first and last name for the purpose of adding them into Handbook.
Steps to Enable a Payroll Integration
Log In to Your Handbook Account
- Open your web browser and go to the Handbook login page.
- Enter your login credentials (email and password) and click Log In.
Navigate to Settings
- Once logged in, go to the main navigation menu.
- Click on Settings.
Access the Integrations Section
- In the Settings menu, click on Integrations.
Select Your Payroll Integration
- In the Integrations section, you will see a list of available payroll systems.
- Select the payroll system you want to integrate with Handbook.
Input Details or API Keys
- Enter the required details or API keys for your chosen payroll system.
- Follow any specific instructions provided for your payroll system to complete the setup.
Save and Enable the Integration
- After entering the necessary information, click Save to enable the integration.
How the Integration Works
- One-Way Sync: Handbook integrates with your external system via a one-way sync, pulling employee data into Handbook. We do not send any data to your external software or modify employee data within the external software.
- Automatic Updates: The integration automatically synchronizes every hour to ensure that your Handbook account is up to date with the latest employee information.
- Employee Management: Based on the external data, Handbook will automatically add or remove staff. If an employee's status changes in the external system, these changes will be reflected in Handbook.
- You cannot delete integrated employees when integration is enabled.
