Importing Documents

How to Import Documents into Handbook

Currently, Handbook does not offer an automated document import feature. While we understand the convenience of uploading documents directly into the platform, we do not recommend uploading PDFs or Word documents using an importer, as the result can be messy and difficult to manage. These file formats (PDF, Word, etc) often don’t translate well into our web systems, leading to formatting issues, missing content, and general frustration.

Here’s the best way to get your documents into Handbook:

  1. Copy and Paste: The most reliable method for adding your policies and procedures is by copying the content from your existing documents and pasting it directly into Handbook. This allows you to retain the clarity and structure of your original content, ensuring everything looks just right.
  2. Custom Integration: If you’re using another system to store your policies and would like to streamline the process, we can work with you to explore a custom integration. Let us know what system you're currently using, and we’ll see if we can create a solution to pull your documents into Handbook automatically.
